About Act Three

Almost 18 years ago, I left my challenging sales career to stay home with my daughter. I have been busy these past 18 years doing volunteer work for the school, the hospital and my church. But I didn’t have a clue how to translate that into a job.
Now I do with Act Three’s help. Through coaching, assessments and careful analysis of just what I had been doing in my volunteer work, I now know what I want to do and have a plan to get there.

Over the last decade, Julie Shifman found herself serving an increasing number of women returning to work after raising children.

The more she worked with these women, the clearer it became that traditional job search tactics did not address the unique needs of women in the third act of life.

She created Act Three, a career service specifically for mothers going back to work, and enlisted the help of career transitions coach and working women’s scholar Carole Morgan Haper.

Through individual coaching, group workshops and networking events, Act Three guides you back to employment one step at a time by helping you:

  • Find your passions and talents
  • Determine what kind of work fits who you are now
  • Build a resume that addresses years off and gets you interviews
  • Write an elevator speech that leaves a lasting impression
  • Learn how to network effectively
  • Practice interviewing skills
  • Dress for the job you want

Whatever combination of Act Three resources you choose, you make the journey from mom track to job track shorter, easier, and a lot more fun!
